The work “Pot” was created during the third semester of the ceramic design vocational class as an introduction to hand-building and sculpting techniques, paired with extensive surface experimentation.
An exercise in the third semester of the ceramic design vocational class exploring hand-building and sculpted clay forms.
The vessel body was coiled and smoothed by hand, then refined with a wooden paddle. The faces were sculpted separately and attached. The entire pot was coated in white engobe slip and fired unglazed.
