Cup Set
This cup set was the inaugural project of the first semester in the ceramic design vocational class. It comprises eight cups grouped in quartets by their handles, featuring subtle dark-to-light tonal gradations. Companion tea trays and pitchers were developed alongside.
In the first semester of the ceramic design vocational class, foundational practice took center stage. This project initiated throwing on the wheel through a limited edition of cups complemented by trays and pitchers.
The cups were thrown from pottery clay and engobed at the leather-hard stage. Handles were slip cast, trimmed on the wheel, and attached. Form development occurred directly on the wheel.
