In the Bowl

The project “In the Bowl” grew from a collaboration with chef Natan Ernst and ceramicist Valentin Wyss. The baseline was two bowl series: one by Till Herion and one by Valentin Wyss. Our aim was to fill the bowls with curated dishes and explore playful presentations.

“In the Bowl” was realized with chef Natan Ernst when the opportunity arose. The intention was to demonstrate the bowls in active culinary use.

The bowls were fired in 2024 as initial test pieces in a gas kiln. All bowls were wheel-thrown and reduction fired. Realizing the project with chef Natan Ernst at Restaurant “Löscher” provided an initial gateway into culinary art, ultimately inspiring the second “Werkbankett” in 2026.
