EXTRUDE ME
A playful search for form in modular table runners. The variety of colors and differing shapes encourage versatile everyday use. «EXTRUDE ME» stands for a modular, playful approach to diverse everyday applications. The profiles of the extruded parts are graphically strict, contrasting with their lively colors and freeform distortion. The colors highlight and support the playful interaction.
“EXTRUDE ME” was created during the fourth semester of the ceramic design vocational class in Bern. The goal was to produce a versatile collection of pieces that assemble into a cohesive whole.
Numerous pieces were created through mechanical extrusion using a de-airing pugmill. The various profiles were designed through digital form exploration and fabricated with a laser cutter. All parts are engobed and glazed.
